Where Are QQ Received Files Stored?
QQ stores received files in a Tencent Files folder tied to the account number. Chat data and downloads use separate locations on Windows and Android.
Last updated
On Windows QQ saves documents, images, and other received files under Documents in a folder named Tencent Files. The exact subfolder includes the QQ account number. Newer QQ NT builds can use a revised folder layout, so the account folder name is the reliable marker.
On Android QQ saves received files to shared storage under a QQfile_recv folder. App databases and message history stay in private app storage and are not browsable without root or a backup.
Where QQ stores this, by platform
C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Tencent Files\<qq-number>\FileRecv
Default received files folder for QQ on Windows. Replace <username> with the Windows user name and <qq-number> with the QQ account number. Chat images and related downloads may use sibling folders under the same account folder. QQ NT can vary the parent path, so search for Tencent Files if FileRecv is not in this exact spot.
/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.tencent.mobileqq/Tencent/QQfile_recv
Current received files location on Android with scoped storage. Holds files saved from chats. Older installs may also show /storage/emulated/0/Tencent/QQfile_recv. Private chat databases remain in the app private data area and need root access or an official migration path.
Frequently asked questions
How do I change where QQ saves files on Windows?
Open QQ Settings and look for File Management or General storage settings. The panel shows the current receive path and allows selection of a new folder. Move existing files by hand if continued access from one place is needed.
Why can I not find QQfile_recv on Android?
Newer Android versions enforce scoped storage and some file managers hide app specific folders. Use the system Files app, check the Android/data path, and confirm QQ has storage permission. Files sent as images can also appear in the device gallery rather than QQfile_recv.
