Where Are Warframe Config and Screenshots on Windows?

Warframe on Windows keeps EE.cfg and EE.log in AppData Local Warframe and in-game captures in Pictures Warframe.

Last updated

Settings and key bindings are stored in EE.cfg at %LOCALAPPDATA%\Warframe. The same folder holds EE.log and Launcher.log for debugging.

Screenshots taken with the in-game capture key go to Pictures\Warframe on current builds. Older installs used a Captures folder inside the game install directory.

Where Warframe stores this, by platform

Windows
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Warframe

Shortcut is %localappdata%\Warframe. Contains EE.cfg, EE.log and Launcher.log. EE.log resets on each launch, so copy it before restarting when saving evidence. It can contain IP address and email, so do not post it publicly. Launcher Get Logs exports copies to Desktop\Warframe Logs.

Windows
C:\Users\<username>\Pictures\Warframe

Default for F6 in-game capture on current builds. Legacy Steam path was <install-dir>\Captures and legacy standalone path was <install-dir>\Downloaded\Public\Captures. Check game install folder if Pictures\Warframe is empty on an old install.

Frequently asked questions

How do I reset Warframe settings without reinstalling?

Close game and launcher, back up EE.cfg from %localappdata%\Warframe, then delete or rename EE.cfg and relaunch. The client will generate defaults. Restore the backup if the reset does not help.

Which file should I send to support for a crash?

Send EE.log for in-mission crashes and Launcher.log for update or login failures, both from %localappdata%\Warframe. Generate them right after the fault without relaunching, or the log will be overwritten.
