Where Does the Arc Browser Store Spaces and Profile Data?

Arc browser profile and Spaces data folder on Mac, plus how to back up sidebar state.

Last updated

On Mac, Arc keeps its Chromium-based profile, Spaces, Easels and extensions under an Arc folder in Application Support. Sidebar state lives there alongside the usual browser files.

The folder layout changes as Arc evolves, so treat the whole folder as the backup unit rather than cherry-picking files. Windows paths differ and move between releases, so check the install's data folder directly there.

Where Arc Browser stores this, by platform

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/Arc

Back up the whole Arc folder with the browser closed. Inner layout shifts between Arc releases, so restore to a matching version. Windows installs use a separate LocalAppData layout that varies by release.

Frequently asked questions

How do I move Arc data to a new Mac?

Copy the Arc application support folder to the same location with Arc closed. Sign-in state may still require re-authentication on the new machine.

Does Arc sync Spaces to the cloud?

Arc Sync (via your Arc account) covers Spaces, tabs and Easels. Local file copies are a fallback, not the intended migration path.
