Where Does Battle.net Install Games?

Battle.net default games folder on Windows and how per-game settings override it.

Last updated

Battle.net defaults to a folder in Program Files (x86), one subfolder per game. Custom locations chosen at install override this per game.

The client settings show the live default. Individual games can each point elsewhere, so verify per game rather than assuming.

Where Battle.net stores this, by platform

Windows
C:\Program Files (x86)\Battle.net

One subfolder per game (Call of Duty, Diablo IV, World of Warcraft and others). Per-game custom paths override this. Confirm in Settings > Downloads or the game options menu.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find where a Blizzard game installed?

Open Battle.net Settings > Downloads and read the Default Install Directory. Each game page also shows its path under its options menu. That field beats any documented default.

How do I move Battle.net games to another drive?

Use Settings > Downloads to set the default for future installs, or relocate per game from its options. Moving folders by hand without the client confuses the updater.
