Where Are DCS World Saves and Config Stored?

DCS World stores user data under Saved Games\DCS on Windows. Config, Tracks, Missions and Logs sit in subfolders of that user directory.

Last updated

On Windows, DCS keeps the user profile outside the install folder in Saved Games. The folder name varies by edition, commonly DCS or DCS.openbeta in older installs.

Inside you will find Config for options.lua and input, Tracks for recorded flights, Missions for user missions and campaigns, plus Logs and Screenshots. Back up the full user folder before updates or input cleanup.

Frequently asked questions

Where is options.lua?

It is in Saved Games DCS Config as options.lua. Edit it only when DCS is closed, and keep a copy because syntax errors can force a settings reset.

Where are my tracks saved?

Tracks save under Saved Games DCS Tracks, with Multiplayer tracks in the Multiplayer subfolder. The temporary LastMissionTrack file lives under Local Temp during flight, then moves to Tracks when you save it from debriefing.
