Where Does ProtonUp-Qt Install Compatibility Tools?

ProtonUp-Qt downloads custom Proton builds into each launcher's compatibilitytools.d folder, where Steam discovers them as compatibility options. One download per Steam library location covers every game there.
The tool manages versions but Steam owns discovery: new layers need a client restart to appear. Delete a version folder to uninstall that Proton build cleanly.
Where ProtonUp-Qt stores this, by platform
~/.local/share/Steam/compatibilitytools.d
One subfolder per installed Proton or Wine build, selectable per game in Steam properties. Flatpak Steam uses ~/.var/app/com.valvesoftware.Steam instead. Other launchers keep parallel compatibilitytools.d trees that ProtonUp-Qt also manages. Restart Steam after adding versions.

How do I uninstall a GE-Proton version?
Delete its folder from compatibilitytools.d above, or remove it inside ProtonUp-Qt. Games set to it fall back to the default Proton.
