Where Are Zoom Cache and Log Files?
Zoom data, logs and cache folders on Windows, macOS and Linux, distinct from local recordings.
Last updated
This covers Zoom diagnostics and cache, not meeting recordings (separate post). The client keeps a data folder per OS with logs, avatars and virtual background assets.
Support routinely asks for the logs folder contents. Meeting connectors and Outlook plugin traces land nearby, not in Documents.
Where Zoom stores this, by platform
%APPDATA%\Zoom
logs subfolder holds client logs; data holds avatars and backgrounds. Recordings stay separately under Documents\Zoom.
~/Library/Application Support/zoom.us
Same role. In Finder use Go > Go to Folder. Exact layout may vary by client version; look for the logs folder inside.
~/.zoom
Logs and data subfolders inside. Exact layout may vary by client version.
Frequently asked questions
Zoom support asked for logs. Which folder do I send?
Zip the logs folder from the data dir above on the meeting machine. Include the timestamp of the bad meeting.
Can I clear Zoom cache to fix glitches?
Yes: quit fully, delete cache contents (not the whole data folder), relaunch and sign in again.
