Where Does Microsoft Teams Store Cache and Files?

New Teams and classic Teams store cache in totally different places. Most stale guides quote the classic path, which does not exist on new installs.
Quick test on Windows: if %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Teams is missing, you are on new Teams. Quit Teams fully before deleting anything.

Why do cache clear guides disagree on the folder?
They target different generations. Classic Teams used a roaming AppData folder; new Teams is a packaged app under Packages on Windows and Containers on Mac.
Where are Teams downloads and backgrounds?
Downloads go to your normal Downloads folder. Custom meeting backgrounds sit under the Teams data tree (Backgrounds/Uploads on Mac). Cache clearing leaves downloads alone.
