Where Does GoToMeeting Save Recordings?

GoToMeeting local recording default in Documents as .webm or converted MP4, versus cloud recordings.

Last updated

Local GoToMeeting recordings default to the Documents folder as .webm files named by date, time and meeting. Classic builds recorded .g2m needing conversion through Recording Manager.

Cloud versus local is a per account setting. Only the organizer computer holds local files, so ask the host when a recording never appears for you.

Where GoToMeeting stores this, by platform

Windows
%USERPROFILE%\Documents

Default local folder; change it under profile Settings, Meeting, Content, Recordings. Classic .g2m files convert via Recording Manager to MP4 or WMV.

macOS
~/Documents

Same default. Converted MP4 or MOV outputs land wherever Recording Manager points, so check its folder icon for the live path.

Frequently asked questions

Where is my GoToMeeting recording if Documents is empty?

It likely saved to cloud under the organizer web account, or a custom folder set in Recording settings. Check both before assuming failure.

How do I convert an old .g2m recording?

Open Recording Manager, tick the session, pick MP4 or WMV and convert. The output moves to the converted list with a folder shortcut.
