Where Does RingCentral Store Cache and Downloads?

RingCentral desktop keeps cache and profiles in AppData or Library, with downloads in a folder you choose inside the app.

Last updated

RingCentral buries two things in different places. Chat downloads go wherever you set in the app download settings. Cache, GPU state, and login data live in the OS app support paths and are only touched during troubleshooting.

For most issues, use Reset App Data first. Manual deletion of Glip and RingCentral folders under Library or AppData is the fallback when the app will not start at all. Download location questions never need that step. Check the in-app setting before digging in system folders.

Where RingCentral stores this, by platform

Windows
%APPDATA%\RingCentral

Electron style cache. Reset App Data in the app clears it safely. Manual deletion is only for a white screen or a crash on launch.

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/RingCentral

Support folders include Application Support RingCentral plus Caches entries for Glip and RingCentral. Delete only when the app fails to start.

Frequently asked questions

How do I change where RingCentral saves downloads?

Open settings and pick the download location, with an option to prompt per file. Turning the prompt off sends every file to the default folder silently.

How do I clear a corrupted RingCentral cache?

Use Help, then Troubleshooting, then Reset App Data. That clears cache, signs you out, and forces a fresh sync of contacts and messages.

Where do RingCentral debug logs go?

Type the log shortcut in a conversation to generate RC_LOG files, or use the DevTools shortcut to export a HAR. Both download locally for support tickets.
