Where Are BioShock Save Files Located?

BioShock keeps saves in %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Bioshock\SaveGames and settings in %APPDATA%\Bioshock as bioshock.ini plus user.ini. The split confuses people because both folders share the Bioshock name with different casing and roots.
Back up both before running the BioShock Tweaker, which rewrites the INIs and can refuse to boot on bad edits. Crash loops that reset settings are a known quirk; marking the INIs read only after a good setup is the folk fix. Remastered is a separate game with its own folders.
