Terms of Use
Last updated
By using File Path Geek you agree to these terms. They are plain on purpose. If you disagree with any of them, please do not use the site.
What this site provides
File Path Geek publishes general reference information about where software stores its files. Content is free to read and link to. You may quote short excerpts with attribution, but republishing guides wholesale (by scraping, copying, or mirroring substantial portions of the site) is not permitted.
Accuracy and your own backups
Storage locations vary by app version, OS version, store edition, and individual configuration. Guides are dated and corrected over time, but a path that was right last year can be wrong today. Treat every guide as a starting point and verify it on your own machine before acting on it.
Back up anything important before you move, rename, or delete files based on a guide. Deleting or altering the wrong folder can corrupt saves, log you out, or force a reinstall. We are not responsible for lost data, broken installs, or any other damage that follows from using (or misusing) information on this site, to the maximum extent the law allows.
Acceptable use
- Do not attack, overload, or attempt to disrupt the site.
- Do not scrape the site aggressively. Light, polite crawling (respecting robots.txt) is fine.
- Do not use the contact address for spam, phishing, or anything unlawful.
Names and ownership
App, game, and operating system names mentioned in guides belong to their respective owners. Nothing on this site implies endorsement by or affiliation with those owners. The site's own text, design, and logo are ours.
No warranties
The site is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, and uninterrupted availability.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, File Path Geek and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the site. Where liability cannot legally be excluded, it is limited to the minimum the law requires (and since the site is free, that minimum is small).
Changes
These terms may be updated as the site grows. The last-updated date above marks the current version, and continued use after a change counts as acceptance.
