Where Does Blink Shell Store Hosts and Keys?

Blink keeps SSH hosts and keys in app storage synced through iCloud, with plain files in Files.

Last updated

Blink Shell stores hosts, keys, and snippets in the app with iCloud sync carrying them between your own devices. The Files integration exposes plain files for scripts and downloads.

That sync covers Apple devices only and needs the same Apple ID with iCloud enabled. Keys deserve extra care regardless: export the important ones somewhere safe, since a sync hiccup plus an uninstall is the classic way to lose access to a server.

Hosts, keys, and snippets sync through iCloud between your devices. Export critical keys separately; sync is convenient, not a backup strategy.

Frequently asked questions

Do my SSH hosts survive a new iPhone?

Hosts and keys return through iCloud sync on the new device. Anything kept only in local Files needs copying out first, since uninstalls delete the app folder.
