Where Does Bludit Store Content?
Bludit stores all content in bl-content folders beside index.php. Back up that folder plus bl-kernel config.
Last updated
Bludit is flat file, so there is no database to dump. Pages, posts, uploads, plugins, themes, and the site database all live under bl-content. That folder sits in the web root next to index.php in a normal install.
Site settings live in bl-content/databases/site.php and bl-kernel/boot/site.php holds boot config. To back up a Bludit site, copy bl-content. To move hosts, copy bl-content into a fresh Bludit install of the same version. Keep a copy of the same Bludit version installer, since moving bl-content across major versions can need a migration step.
Where Bludit stores this, by platform
/var/www/html/bludit/bl-content
All posts, pages, uploads, and settings. This is the folder to back up. Keep permissions writable by the web server user.
./bl-content (Docker volume mounted to bl-content)
Docker persistent content. Mount this host path to /usr/share/nginx/html/bl-content or the matching Apache path. Back it up before image updates.
Frequently asked questions
how do i migrate bludit to a new server
Copy the whole bl-content folder to the same path on the new host. Keep file ownership as the web user. Revisit the admin panel and resave permalinks if pages return 404 errors.
do i need a volume for bludit in docker
Yes. Mount or copy bl-content as a persistent volume in Docker. The image itself holds code only. Without that volume, posts and settings vanish on container recreate.
