CoMaps is the community fork of Organic Maps, and storage works the same way. Map regions download into app private storage for offline routing and search. Bookmarks, tracks, and settings sit beside them.
No account means no cloud restore. Export bookmarks to a file before switching phones or wiping. The package name differs between the open build and the Play build, so match the entry on your device. Map packs always re download; only your own data needs carrying over.
Where CoMaps stores this, by platform
/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/app.comaps
Offline regions, bookmarks, and settings. The package suffix varies by build, so browse Android data for the CoMaps entry. Export bookmarks from inside the app before migrating.
On My iPhone/CoMaps
Regions cached in the app container with bookmarks beside them. Reinstalls keep nothing, so export bookmarks first and redownload regions over WiFi.
Frequently asked questions
How do I move CoMaps maps and bookmarks to a new phone?
Download the same regions again on the new phone, then import your exported bookmarks file. Map packs attach to the install, so they never transfer by copy. Bookmarks move as a file you export yourself.
Where do I manage CoMaps offline regions?
Inside the app under download maps, where each region shows size and date. Refresh before trips, since OpenStreetMap data goes stale within months. Delete unused regions when space runs low.
