Where Does Commander One Store Settings on Mac?

Where Commander One keeps FTP connections, favorites and preferences on Mac, and how to migrate them.

Last updated

Commander One splits state two ways on Mac: an Application Support folder for connections, favorites, viewer settings and license state, plus a preferences plist for window layout and options. Both live under Library, which Finder hides by default.

Copy both halves with the app quit for a full move. FTP passwords sit in the Keychain under their own entries, so export those separately when the new Mac must connect without prompts. Reach Library through Go to Folder in Finder.

Connections, favorites and viewer state in one folder. Pair with the preferences plist for layout. FTP passwords live in Keychain, not here, so move those separately.

Frequently asked questions

How do I move Commander One to a new Mac?

Quit Commander One and copy its Application Support folder plus the preferences plist. Connections and favorites travel with the support folder, window layout with the plist. Enter the license again on very different hardware.

Commander One forgot my layout. Where do I look?

Open Preferences inside Commander One and confirm the profile in use. Dual pane layouts store per profile, so a reset in one profile leaves the other alone. The plist mirrors the same split.
