Where Does Copilot Money Store Budgets and Data?

Copilot Money syncs budgets across iPhone, Mac, and web from your account, with CSV export in Settings for archiving.

Last updated

Copilot Money is Apple first and cloud synced. Transactions, budgets, and investments live in your Copilot account across iPhone, Mac, iPad, and web. Each device caches recent data for offline browsing. Bank connections run server side for US institutions only.

There is no Android app and no local ledger worth hunting. New devices restore on login alone. For records, the CSV export in Settings beats any file copy. Keep one login across devices or budgets split into strangers.

Where Copilot Money stores this, by platform

iOS
On My iPhone/Copilot

Budgets and investments follow your Copilot login across Apple devices and web. The phone holds cache plus session. Export CSVs from Settings for archives.

macOS
~/Library/Containers/Copilot Money

Same account sync model as iOS with offline cache beside it. US institutions only. Reinstalls restore on login without file juggling.

Frequently asked questions

How do I move Copilot Money to a new device?

Sign in with the same Apple or email login on the new device and let sync finish. Budgets and investments download from your account. US bank links refresh server side. Verify recurring items arrived before wiping the old device.

How do I export Copilot transactions?

Open Settings, then Account, then Export your transactions on iOS or Mac. Copilot writes a CSV with dates, merchants, amounts, and categories. Filtered views export only on Mac and web, so use those when a full dump feels like overkill.
