Where Does Diarium Store Diary Entries?

Diarium keeps entries in local app storage per device and syncs through your own cloud drive. Local spots and sync tips are inside.

Last updated

Diarium is built around a simple deal: entries live in local app storage on each device, and your own cloud drive carries copies between them. There is no Diarium server holding your diary, which keeps subscriptions away and privacy intact.

That means two backups matter. The local folder covers offline access and attachments. The cloud folder you chose in settings is the portable copy that survives a lost phone or a reinstall, so verify sync completed before wiping any device.

Where Diarium stores this, by platform

Windows
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages (Diarium family folder)

Store-app data pattern; look for the Diarium family folder and its LocalState inside. Exact family name varies by release. The cloud folder set in Diarium settings is the portable backup.

Android
Diarium (private app storage)

Entries and media sit in private app storage. Connect a cloud drive in settings for sync, and use in-app export for files you want to keep outside the app.

iOS
On My iPhone/Diarium (exports only)

Same model as Android: private container plus your chosen cloud. iCloud Drive sync keeps iPhone, iPad, and Mac copies matched without a Diarium account.

Frequently asked questions

How do I sync Diarium between phone and PC?

Connect the same cloud (OneDrive, Google Drive, iCloud, Dropbox, or WebDAV) in Diarium settings on both devices. Entries upload from the first and download to the second automatically.

How do I move Diarium to a new phone?

Install Diarium on the new device and connect the same cloud account. Entries download on their own; local-only entries need a manual export first.
