Where Are Dishonored 2 Save Files Located?
Dishonored 2 files saves in an Arkane Studios folder under Saved Games, a folder Windows may display translated.
Last updated
Arkane's Void engine games converge on Saved Games rather than Documents. Dishonored 2 writes into an Arkane Studios directory with the game, a base folder, and savegame data beneath.
The recurring confusion is Windows itself. On non English systems the Saved Games folder displays translated while the underlying name stays English, so alphabetical browsing fails. Searching the drive for Arkane Studios skips the translation problem entirely and lands on the saves.
Where Dishonored 2 stores this, by platform
%USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\Arkane Studios\dishonored2\base\savegame
Manual saves, quicksaves, and autosaves share the savegame folder. On translated Windows, reach it via shell:savedgames in the Run dialog.
~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/403640/pfx/
Same internal layout as Windows inside the prefix. Use the compatdata path for app 403640 under your actual Steam library folder.
Frequently asked questions
There is no Saved Games folder on my system. Where is it?
Type shell:savedgames into the Run dialog instead of browsing by name. That resolves the real folder regardless of display language, then continue into Arkane Studios from there.
What about the Linux or Steam Deck path?
Steam Play prefix for app 403640. Saves hide inside at drive_c/users/steamuser/Saved Games/Arkane Studios/Dishonored2/base/savegame. Your library folder may differ from the default.
