Where Does Eudic Store Dictionaries?

Eudic dictionary files, flashcard backups and account sync on mobile.

Last updated

Eudic keeps dictionary packages (Mdict, Stardict and built ins) in app storage for offline lookup, with word lists, flashcards and notes on the account. Dictionaries are the heavy files; lists are light sync data.

Sideloaded dictionaries arrive as files to import, then live inside the app. Back up flashcards through export and keep the original dictionary files outside the phone. Reinstalls restore lists on login while dictionaries reimport from your copies.

Where Eudic stores this, by platform

Android
App-private storage (dictionaries) plus account word lists

Import Mdict and Stardict files from storage for offline use. Export flashcards periodically; no cloud owns them except the account sync. Clearing app data drops dictionaries first.

iOS
App sandbox (dictionaries) plus account word lists

Same model on iPhone and iPad with Files app imports. Deleting the app clears dictionaries and cache; lists return on sign in. Keep master dictionary files on a computer.

Frequently asked questions

how do I add dictionaries to Eudic

Copy Mdict or Stardict files to the phone, then import from inside Eudic. They install into app storage for offline lookup. Keep the source files; reinstalls need them again.

do Eudic flashcards sync across devices

Yes on the same account. Sign in everywhere and lists merge. Dictionary files never sync; import them per device from your own copies.
