Where Does Goxel Save Models?

Goxel saves voxel models as files you place, with exports for engines and 3D printing.

Last updated

Goxel models live in project files you save yourself, on desktop and mobile alike. The app also exports to engine formats and STL for printing, but those are deliverables.

Mobile saves go through the share sheet or Files app into storage you control. Desktop saves land wherever you choose. Either way the project file is the original and the export is output; archive the original.

Where Goxel stores this, by platform

Android
Project files (location you choose at save)

Voxel projects in files you choose. Export STL and engine formats for use, but archive the project file as the editable original.

iOS
Project files (Files app location you choose)

Same project-file model on iOS. Save through Files to a synced folder so models survive device changes.

Frequently asked questions

How do I keep an editable copy of my model?

Save the project file first, then export. The project stays editable while exports serve engines and printers; keep both, since re-editing from an export loses layers.
