Where Are Haste Save Files Located?
Haste keeps runs in Steam userdata as save.haste, not AppData. Config lives in the Windows registry instead.
Last updated
Haste breaks the Unity habit. Saves live as save.haste (save1, save2 for extra slots) inside the Steam userdata folder for app 1796470, synced by Steam Cloud. Configuration sits in the registry under HKCU\Software\Landfall\Haste rather than any config file.
That split decides the backup. Copy the remote folder for runs, export the registry key for settings. Speedrun communities trade save files by exactly this path, renaming to the slot number they want to overwrite. Proton and native macOS/Linux builds follow the same userdata layout through their own prefixes.
Where Haste stores this, by platform
Steam userdata 1796470/remote/save.haste
save.haste plus slot variants, synced by Steam Cloud. Settings in HKCU registry beside it. Copy the folder with the game closed; slot files map to in-game slots by name.
~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1796470/pfx/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Steam/userdata/<id>/1796470/remote
Same remote folder through the Proton prefix (appid 1796470). File layout mirrors Windows. Deck runners back up this path before practice-save swaps.
Frequently asked questions
how do i back up haste saves
Copy save.haste (or save1/save2.haste for other slots) out of the 1796470/remote folder with the game closed. Speedrun practice saves drop in the same way. Restore by copying back and launching.
why is there no haste folder in appdata
By design. Haste writes save.haste to the Steam userdata remote folder and settings to HKCU\Software\Landfall\Haste. No LocalLow or Documents folder exists, so guides pointing there are for a different game.
