Where Does Hearthstone Store Options and Data?
Hearthstone keeps options in a local options.txt file, with cards and progress bound to the Battle.net account instead.

Hearthstone splits data cleanly. The collection, rank, and purchases live on Battle.net servers under your account. The local machine holds an options.txt file with graphics and sound settings, nothing more.
That split makes local backups nearly pointless for progress and essential for nothing except preferences. Copy options.txt to skip reconfiguring a new install. Everything that matters returns with a sign in, on PC, Mac, or phone.
Where Hearthstone stores this, by platform
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Blizzard\Hearthstone\options.txt
Graphics and audio toggles in one text file. Copy it to a fresh install to skip the options menu. Collection data never lives here.
~/Applications/Hearthstone/client.config
Mac client config beside the install. Same story as Windows: preferences local, collection on Battle.net. Mobile clients sync the same account with no user files to manage.
Frequently asked questions
How do I move Hearthstone to a new PC?
Sign in with the same Battle.net account. Cards, ranks, and purchases follow the login on every platform. The options file only carries graphics and audio toggles.
Where is the Hearthstone options file?
Open options.txt in the Blizzard folder with a text editor while the game is closed. Sound and graphics keys live there. Most toggles also exist in the options menu, which is safer than hand editing.
Does Hearthstone sync my collection across devices?
Yes, through the Battle.net account across PC and mobile. Local files hold no collection data, so reinstalls never touch cards. Deck trackers keep their own separate stats locally.
