Where Are Heartworm Save Files Located?

Heartworm keeps its saves in AppData LocalLow under Heartworm LLC, and deaths are recorded inside the files. Back up before a big run.

Last updated

Vincent Adinolfi's lo-fi survival horror, published by DreadXP, reached consoles in October 2026 after a well-received PC launch the year before. The PC saves sit in AppData\LocalLow, under a Heartworm LLC folder, with the actual files in a saves subfolder.

There is a reason to care beyond backups. The game records deaths inside the save data, and the no-death achievement reads that record. A copy made before a mistake is the only way back to a clean file. Between sessions, copy the saves folder somewhere else.

Where Heartworm stores this, by platform

Windows
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Heartworm LLC\Heartworm\saves

Save data for the PC version, including the death record the achievements check. Back it up before difficult stretches.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the Heartworm save folder?

Under %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Heartworm LLC\Heartworm\saves. The saves subfolder holds the game data; copy the parent Heartworm folder if you want the whole profile.

Can I roll back a death?

Only if you made a copy of the saves folder before it happened. The death record lives inside the save file, so restoring an earlier copy is the way to keep a run eligible for the no-death achievement.

Is it in AppData Local or Roaming?

Neither. It is in LocalLow, the third AppData folder that sits alongside Local and Roaming. Open %USERPROFILE%\AppData and you will see all three.
