Where Does Jerboa Store Sessions and Settings?

Jerboa keeps Lemmy sessions in its private sandbox at /data/data/com.jerboa. Log in again on a new phone.

Last updated

Jerboa stores Lemmy sessions locally and content remotely. The sandbox holds login tokens, preferences, and caches. Your posts and subscriptions live on your instances.

There is no export to run. Migration is reinstall plus login. That works because Lemmy keeps the valuable half. It fails for drafts, which exist barely and locally.

Where Jerboa stores this, by platform

Frequently asked questions

How do I move Jerboa to a new phone?

Install Jerboa and log into each instance again. Subscriptions and posts live server side. Sessions and settings stay on the old phone.

Does Jerboa autosave drafts?

No. Draft support is limited and local. Long posts deserve a notes app until sent. Timeouts have eaten more than one essay.

Where are Jerboa downloaded images?

Downloads land in shared storage. Sessions in the sandbox need root. One side migrates by copy, the other by login.
