Where Does Just Store Recipes and Config?
Just justfile plus config inside your project on Windows, macOS and Linux.

Just reads recipes from justfile or .justfile at the project root. User config lives in the home config dir when set.
There is no build output of its own. The project folder is portable. Moving machines needs only the repo; Just itself installs per OS. Aliases stay in shell files, not Just.

[ProjectDir]\justfile
Recipes at root (also .justfile). User config optionally in %APPDATA%\just\. Keep justfile in git; it is the whole automation story.
[ProjectDir]/justfile
Same in-folder layout. User overrides sit in ~/.config/just/ when used. Fresh clones run with only Just installed.
[ProjectDir]/justfile
Same arrangement. System wide config rarely matters. Commit justfile plus .justfile variants; ignore any local env files.
