Where Does LACT Store GPU Settings?

LACT GPU controls config on Linux, YAML state for AMD, NVIDIA and Intel.

Last updated

LACT keeps GPU clocks, voltages, power caps and fan curves in a YAML config under /etc/lact. Profiles for different workloads share that file. The daemon applies them at start.

Stop lactd before copying between machines. GPU generations expose different knobs, so old keys may idle harmlessly. Verify applied clocks after restore.

Where LACT stores this, by platform

Linux
/etc/lact/config.yaml

Clocks, voltages, fan curves and profiles live here. Edit with lactd stopped. Confirm driver support when controls grey out.

Frequently asked questions

How do I back up LACT settings?

Copy config.yaml with lactd stopped. That keeps clocks, voltages, fan curves and profiles. Restart the daemon and confirm clocks before gaming.

Why are LACT controls greyed out?

Open the GUI or daemon logs and check driver support for the card. Missing controls usually mean kernel or firmware gaps, not a broken config.
