Where Does Lemon8 Store Drafts and Media?

Lemon8 keeps drafts in its private app sandbox on Android and iOS, which vanish on uninstall. Saved photos go to your gallery instead.

Last updated

Lemon8 draws a hard line between drafts and published work. Drafts never leave the app's private sandbox. They sit in local-only storage tied to that install, which is why a new phone or a reinstall opens to an empty draft list.

Exported photos are the opposite. Once you save to the device they land in shared storage like the gallery or Downloads and survive app changes. Treat drafts as fragile and exports as durable. If a clip matters, get it out of the sandbox before touching updates or storage cleaners.

Where Lemon8 stores this, by platform

Android
/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.bd.nproject/files

App-external files for package com.bd.nproject. The private sandbox at /data/data/com.bd.nproject needs root to browse and holds the local-only drafts database. Clearing app data wipes drafts while posted and gallery-saved media survives elsewhere.

iOS
/var/mobile/Containers/Data/Application/<guid>/Documents

Sandboxed container for bundle com.bd.nproject (App ID 1498607143) with Documents, Library Caches and tmp areas. Drafts stay inside this container and do not sync through iCloud to a new phone. Reinstalling the app empties it.

Frequently asked questions

I reinstalled Lemon8 and my drafts are gone. Where were they?

You cannot restore them. Drafts sit in the private sandbox at /data/data/com.bd.nproject and never sync to the cloud. Uninstalling, clearing data or moving phones wipes them. Post or export anything important before switching devices.

Will clearing Lemon8 cache delete my drafts?

Open Settings, Apps, Lemon8, Storage and check the cache figure, but do not tap Clear Data. Clearing cache is usually safe while clearing data deletes the sandbox with your drafts. Back up posted work to your gallery first.

Where are my saved Lemon8 photos on Android?

Look in your gallery, DCIM or Download folders, depending on where you chose to save. Media you explicitly save leaves the sandbox and behaves like normal photos. Anything still marked as draft never left the private folder.
