Where Does Lexware Store Company Data?

Lexware keeps company data per program under ProgramData Lexware Daten. Standard paths for backup and repair.

Last updated

Each Lexware program keeps a Daten folder under ProgramData with the full company database. Paths vary by line: office, faktura, buchhalter, lohn and others each get their own tree. The server copy is the live one while clients point at it, so backup belongs on the server side. Paste the path since the tree stays hidden.

The folder is hidden by default. Paste the path instead of browsing for it. Server installs hold the live copy; clients point at it. Never copy while any client has the program open or the database splits. Close every client before copying the Daten folder and its flag file. When the app reports a backup still running after a crash, clear the stale lock inside that flag file after a backup.

Where Lexware stores this, by platform

Windows
C:\ProgramData\Lexware\office\Daten

Company database per program line. Replace office with your module (faktura, buchhalter, lohn). Server path is live; back it up with all clients closed.

Frequently asked questions

How do I back up Lexware company data manually?

Copy the Daten folder for your program with Lexware closed on all clients. The LX_Dasi.dat flag file travels with it; if the app claims a backup is running after a crash, flip Aktiv back to 0 inside that file.

Lexware says a backup is running but nothing is. How do I fix it?

Open the Daten folder for your edition and edit LX_Dasi.dat in Notepad. Change Aktiv=1 to Aktiv=0, save, and restart. You are clearing a stale lock, not fixing data, so back up first.
