Where Does Mailtrain Store Config and Data?

Mailtrain reads server config in config/production.yaml with subscribers in MySQL and uploads beside it.

Last updated

Mailtrain splits settings between YAML files and a MySQL database. The production.yaml file under config sets database credentials, ports, and mailer zones. Subscribers, campaigns, and templates persist as rows in that database.

File uploads for templates accumulate in the public folders of the install. Deploy layouts root these differently across bare and Docker installs. Back up the YAML with a database dump for restores.

Where Mailtrain stores this, by platform

Linux
[MailDir]/config/production.yaml

Database credentials plus mailer zones live here. Subscribers persist as rows in MySQL. Uploads sit in public folders beside config.

Frequently asked questions

How do I back up Mailtrain?

Copy production.yaml with a dump of the MySQL database and the uploads folders. The set restores onto a fresh install. Keep mailer keys safe in the YAML.

Where are Mailtrain templates?

As rows in the database with assets in public folders. Custom templates export through the UI. Version the exports in git.
