Where Does Matterbridge Store Config?
Matterbridge runs from a single TOML config file you place, with no database or state directory.
Last updated
Matterbridge keeps all of its behavior in one TOML file: every bridged channel, credential and gateway rule. It stores no database and remembers nothing between restarts.
That makes backup trivial and versioning natural. The config file lives wherever you put it, commonly beside the binary or in /etc, and git tracks it like code.
Where Matterbridge stores this, by platform
/etc/matterbridge/matterbridge.toml
Conventional system path for the single config file. Tokens inside grant chat access, so restrict permissions to the service user. Restart the service after edits.
