Where Does Miro Store Boards and Cache?
Where the Miro desktop app keeps cache and settings on Windows and macOS, while boards stay in cloud.
Last updated
Miro is board cloud with a desktop shell. Your teams, boards, and uploads live in the Miro account. The computer holds login, preferences, and cached board tiles. That cache is why revisits feel instant.
Paths follow Electron norms with Miro or RealtimeBoard in older names. Exact subfolders shift with releases. When a board loads forever, stale tiles are the usual cause. Clear cache, rejoin from the dashboard, and sign back in. Your boards will still be there waiting. When in doubt, verify paths inside the app before trusting a remembered folder.
Where Miro stores this, by platform
%appdata%\Miro
Login and cached tiles live here. Clear Cache folders to fix stuck loads while keeping login. Delete the whole folder closed for a full reset.
~/Library/Application Support/Miro
Same layout under Application Support with Miro in the name. Boards stay in cloud. Use Go to Folder in Finder since Library hides by default.
Frequently asked questions
How do I fix Miro stuck on loading?
Clear the Miro cache folders under Roaming or Application Support, then sign in again. Boards, templates, and comments live in your Miro account cloud. Only login and cached tiles vanish locally, which rebuild on next board open.
Does clearing Miro cache delete my boards?
No. Miro streams boards from your team account. The desktop wrapper caches tiles and login for speed. Deleting cache logs out at worst but never deletes a board. Reopen from the dashboard link after clearing.
