Where Does Mission Center Store Settings?

Mission Center keeps almost nothing on disk. Preferences live in dconf, Flatpak state under ~/.var/app/io.missioncenter.MissionCenter.

Last updated

Mission Center is a live system monitor, so most of what it shows is read from the running kernel, not from files. People hunting for a big data folder will not find one. There is very little worth backing up.

What persists is small: UI preferences in dconf under its schema path, plus the standard Flatpak sandbox folders. Native repo installs skip the Flatpak path and keep only the dconf settings.

Where Mission Center stores this, by platform

Linux
/io/missioncenter/MissionCenter/ (dconf)

Only preferences such as visible columns and refresh behavior. Read and reset with dconf, since no plain config file exists.

Linux
~/.var/app/io.missioncenter.MissionCenter/

Flatpak installs only. Holds cache and sandbox state. Native distro packages do not create this folder.

Frequently asked questions

How do I view Mission Center preferences?

Run dconf dump /io/missioncenter/MissionCenter/ to see them, or open dconf Editor and browse to that path. Reset with dconf reset -f on the same path.

How do I reset Mission Center to defaults?

Delete ~/.var/app/io.missioncenter.MissionCenter and the dconf path above. On next launch the app recreates both with defaults. Back up neither for migration, there is nothing worth carrying over.
