Where Does the MVG App Store Tickets?
Munich MVGO replaced MVG Fahrinfo in 2024. Tickets live in private storage under the current package.
Last updated
Munich replaced MVG Fahrinfo with MVGO in summer 2024, and the retired app left the stores in August of that year. The current package and the old swm package both differ from Berlin and Hamburg builds, so guides written for other cities mislead here. On the phone, private storage holds timetable cache, favorites and session for whichever Munich build is installed.
Tickets stay bound to the account rather than to copied files. On a new phone, install MVGO directly and skip the retired Fahrinfo entirely, then log into the same account and re download from purchase history. Old tickets do not migrate on their own. When boards look stale, clear the cache in system settings and reload.
Where MVG stores this, by platform
/data/data/de.mvg.more
Private data for current MVGO. Old Fahrinfo used a different swm package. Install MVGO on new phones; old tickets re download via account.
/var/mobile/Containers/Data/Application/<guid>/Documents
GUID container for MVGO (App Store ID 991757585). Old Fahrinfo was ID 343701044. Same account pulls tickets back.
Frequently asked questions
How do I move from MVG Fahrinfo to MVGO?
Install MVGO (de.mvg.more) and log into the same account. Old Fahrinfo tickets do not auto migrate; re download from purchase history. The old app retired in August 2024.
Which MVG package is on my phone?
MVGO uses de.mvg.more, while retired Fahrinfo used de.swm.mvgfahrinfo.muenchen. No eos.uptrade Munich package ever existed despite the BVG pattern. Check Settings Apps for the installed ID before following older instructions, and quote the full string when asking for help.
