Where Does Niagara Launcher Store Layout and Backups?
Niagara keeps layout and settings in its private sandbox. Back up with Niagara backup inside the app before switching phones.
Last updated
Niagara stores your home layout in its private sandbox and nowhere else reachable. The in-app backup exists because file copies cannot do the job without root.
Make the backup before wiping the old phone. Restores re-link widgets and icon packs by package name, so install those first. Order matters more than people expect.

Frequently asked questions
How do I move my Niagara setup to a new phone?
Create a Niagara backup in settings and save the file, then restore it on the new phone. Sandbox copies need root and break across installs.
Do widgets transfer with Niagara backup?
Widgets belong to their own apps and the system. Niagara stores placement, the widgets re-register on restore. Missing apps after restore mean uninstalled widgets.
Do I need my icon pack installed first?
No. Icon packs and widgets come from their own apps. Niagara stores references. Reinstall those apps first, then restore.
