Where Are Northgard Save Files Located?
Northgard saves inside its install folder with prefs.sav beside them, not AppData.
Last updated
Northgard ignores every save convention and writes into a save folder inside its own install directory. Config in prefs.sav sits right beside it in the install root.
That placement punishes reinstalls and drive moves. Uninstalling deletes the saves with the game unless Steam Cloud carried them, so back up the folder before touching the install.
Where Northgard stores this, by platform
[SteamLibrary]\steamapps\common\Northgard\save
Default library is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam. prefs.sav config in the install root above it. Steam Cloud reports near zero bytes for many players, so treat local copies as the master.
Frequently asked questions
I reinstalled Northgard and saves are gone. Why?
They lived in the install folder you just deleted. Without a Cloud copy there is no recovery, which is why the save folder needs a backup before any reinstall.
Where is the Northgard config file?
As prefs.sav in the install root, one level above save. Copy both together when migrating between machines.
