Where Does Nunchuk Store Wallets and Backups?
Nunchuk Bitcoin multisig wallets on Android and iOS plus encrypted backups.
Last updated
Nunchuk keeps signing keys in private app storage with encrypted Cloud backups when enabled. Multisig configs sync through the account.
There is no file to copy without root. Moving phones means account login plus backup restore. Seeds plus BSMS descriptors matter more than any local copy.
Where Nunchuk stores this, by platform
/data/data/io.nunchuk.android/
Private sandbox (root only, package name may vary by flavor). Real backup is encrypted Cloud backup plus BIP39 seeds. Enable backup before changing phones.
On My iPhone/Nunchuk/
Files exposure for exported descriptors; keys stay in the keychain plus container. Migrate with iCloud backup and the same Apple ID plus account login.
Frequently asked questions
How do I back up Nunchuk multisig?
Write down each signer seed, export the BSMS config, and confirm Cloud backup. Restoring needs the quorum plus config, not just one phone copy.
Can I copy Nunchuk files to a new phone?
Not directly. Private storage is not browsable. Use account restore plus seeds. Test the quorum on the new device before wiping the old one.
