Where Is the Windows Offline Files Cache?

Windows stashes offline network files in the CSC folder, a protected system cache you browse, never touch directly.

Last updated

Offline Files keeps network copies available without a connection, and the cache behind it is a protected system folder called CSC. Windows guards it hard because raw edits there corrupt the sync database.

Manage it through Sync Center, never Explorer. The control panel shows what is cached, what failed, and how much space the cache may use. Disk-full mysteries on laptops with redirected folders almost always end in this folder's quota, raised in the same dialog.

Where Windows stores this, by platform

Windows
C:\Windows\CSC (Offline Files cache)

Offline network file cache, protected from direct browsing. Manage through Sync Center: check status, resolve conflicts, and raise the disk quota there.

Frequently asked questions

My offline files are not syncing. Where do I look?

Use Sync Center to check status and resolve conflicts. The cache holds the offline copies; the server holds the truth. Sync first, then investigate what failed to upload.
