Where Does OpenLiteSpeed Store Config?

OpenLiteSpeed reads /usr/local/lsws/conf/httpd_config.conf, with virtual hosts files stored beside it.

Last updated

OpenLiteSpeed keeps server config in a plain-text file under the lsws root. Virtual hosts add their own vhost.conf files beside it. Cache and PHP blocks extend the same tree.

WebAdmin edits the same files a terminal would. Server root anchors relative paths, so moves need matching layouts. Restart after hand edits since the running server reads files only on load.

Where OpenLiteSpeed stores this, by platform

Linux
/usr/local/lsws/conf/httpd_config.conf (vhosts in conf/vhosts)

Main conf plus per-vhost files under the lsws root. WebAdmin writes back to the same files. Restart with lswsctrl after edits.

Frequently asked questions

How do I migrate OpenLiteSpeed?

Copy the conf dir plus vhost folders to the same root on the new server. Cert paths inside must exist there too. Restart with lswsctrl after moving.

WebAdmin or config files?

Edit the main file by hand or use the port 7080 WebAdmin, which writes back to the same files. Restart or graceful restart to apply. Keep includes inside the conf tree.
