Where Does PearCleaner Store Data on Mac?
PearCleaner keeps settings in ~/Library/Application Support/Pearcleaner plus prefs and cache files on Mac.
Last updated
PearCleaner stores its own data the way most Mac apps do. Support files sit in Application Support under the Pearcleaner folder. Preferences live in two plist files, with caches, containers and saved state beside them.
The Homebrew zap list spells out every path, which makes backup and removal simple. Copy Application Support plus the prefs when moving machines. Leave the Caches out. Those rebuild on launch.
Where PearCleaner stores this, by platform
~/Library/Application Support/Pearcleaner
Own settings, Sentinel monitor state and CLI data. Prefs in com.alienator88.Pearcleaner.plist. Back up Application Support and prefs, skip Caches. Needs Full Disk Access to scan fully.
Frequently asked questions
How do I uninstall PearCleaner itself?
Use the self-uninstall option in Settings. It removes the app plus its own support files cleanly. The slimming mode strips extra components first when you want the smallest trace.
PearCleaner finds nothing. What fixes it?
Grant Full Disk Access in System Settings, then quit and reopen PearCleaner. The scanner needs it to see Library folders. Without it, leftover searches miss half the files.
