Where Are Planet Zoo 2 Save Files Located?
Planet Zoo 2 follows Frontier convention: parks live in the Saved Games folder under Frontier Developments, in a per account tree.
Last updated
Frontier puts its management games in the Windows Saved Games folder, not Documents. Planet Zoo 2 continues the pattern from Planet Zoo and Planet Coaster 2: a Frontier Developments folder with one game folder per title. The folder appears after the first successful save.
One caveat is honest at launch week. The exact folder name below follows the series convention and the sequel pattern, but confirm it in your own Saved Games folder after saving once. If the game cannot save at all, suspect a missing or redirected Saved Games folder before suspecting corruption.
Where Planet Zoo 2 stores this, by platform
%USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\Frontier Developments\Planet Zoo 2
Parks and blueprints sit inside the per account tree. Paste shell:SavedGames into Run to open the parent. If the folder name differs slightly at launch, use whichever Frontier Developments subfolder your install created.
Frequently asked questions
How do I move my Planet Zoo 2 parks to a new PC?
Copy the whole Planet Zoo 2 folder to the same Saved Games path on the new PC. Parks and settings travel together. Franchise mode progress also syncs online, so local copies matter most for sandbox parks.
The game fails to save anything. What fixes it?
The Saved Games folder itself is missing or redirected. Type shell:SavedGames into Run to open it, recreate the path by hand, and the game resumes saving. Frontier documents this exact failure for its other titles.
