Where Does Pocket ID Store Data?
Pocket ID persists everything in the mapped app data volume, including its SQLite database. Back up that folder plus .env.
Last updated
Pocket ID keeps a single stateful spot: the app data volume holding the SQLite database, keys, and uploads. The sample compose maps a host data folder to app data in the container. Everything else (image, config) is disposable.
Settings arrive through an env file with the usual OIDC URLs and secrets. Group grants and client registrations persist in the database file. A built in healthcheck command lets orchestrators watch liveness. Keep the data folder and env file as the backup pair. OIDC client metadata registers against the same store.
Where Pocket ID stores this, by platform
/opt/pocket-id/data
SQLite database, keys, and uploads. This folder is the entire backup unit. Stop the container before copying.
/opt/pocket-id/.env
URLs and secrets loaded by the container. Lives beside compose in your deploy folder.
Frequently asked questions
How do I back up Pocket ID?
Copy the host data folder with the container stopped, plus the .env file. The database and keys travel together in that one folder.
Does Pocket ID support Docker healthchecks?
Yes, with the healthcheck pointing at the app binary. The sample compose shows the exact test flags and intervals to copy.
