Where Does Postico Store Connection Favorites?
Postico keeps connection favorites in a Favorites.db SQLite file inside its sandboxed container. Export favorites from the app to share them.
Last updated
Postico is sandboxed, so its data lives inside its container rather than plain Application Support. Favorites are stored in a SQLite database called Favorites.db deep in that container. Query history can ride along in exported favorite files.
Day to day you should not need the path. The favorites window with export and import covers sharing and backup. Direct database edits are a fallback for bulk changes, done only with the app closed. Connection URLs offer a scriptable alternative for creating favorites.
Where Postico stores this, by platform
/Users/<username>/Library/Containers/at.eggerapps.Postico/Data/Library/Application Support/Postico/Favorites.db
SQLite database holding all connection favorites. Passwords stay in the keychain unless you include them in an export. Postico 2 uses a different container, so check the app settings if this does not match.
Frequently asked questions
How do I share a Postico connection?
Right click the favorite and choose Export Favorite. The exported file is a plist you can hand to someone or generate from a script.
Can I edit favorites by hand?
Quit Postico first, then open the Favorites.db file in a SQLite tool. Editing it while Postico runs risks losing the change.
