Where Does Pragha Store Its Library on Linux?
Pragha music library database and preferences file locations on Linux.
Last updated
Pragha keeps two files in one folder. pragha.db is the SQLite library. A file named config holds preferences from Edit and Preferences.
Both paths come straight from the pragha man page FILES section. That makes this one of the better documented players on this list. No dconf or hidden database is involved.
Where Pragha stores this, by platform
~/.config/pragha/pragha.db
SQLite music library. Personal settings sit in a file named config beside it. Both documented in pragha(1) FILES section. Copy with the app closed to avoid corruption.
Frequently asked questions
How do I back up the Pragha library?
Close Pragha and copy pragha.db elsewhere. The file is SQLite, so copies made while the app runs risk corruption. Restoring means replacing the file with the app closed and rescanning if counts look off.
Can I move Pragha to a new machine by copying files?
Yes. The database and the config file sit side by side in ~/.config/pragha. Move both together to keep library and preferences in sync. Moving only the database drops custom settings.
