Where Does Predecessor Store Config and Progress?

Predecessor keeps settings in LocalAppData while heroes and ranks stay on Omeda servers.

Last updated

Predecessor is a free-to-play MOBA, so heroes, ranks, and purchases live on Omeda servers. Your disk holds settings only, in a Predecessor folder under LocalAppData.

That split decides the backup strategy. There is no hero file to copy, and reinstalling loses nothing but options. Copy the Config folder when migrating machines to skip the settings screens, and leave the rest to the account.

Where Predecessor stores this, by platform

Windows
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Predecessor\Saved\Config\WindowsClient

Graphics and key settings (WindowsClient). Heroes and ranks are server-side, so this folder is the only thing worth copying.

Linux
~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/961200/pfx/

Proton prefix for the Windows build (AppID 961200). The LocalAppData config appears inside the prefix; progression stays server-side either way.

Frequently asked questions

Do I lose my heroes if I reinstall?

Heroes, ranks, and purchases return on login. Only graphics and key settings stay behind, so screenshot the settings pages before wiping.
