Where Does qFlipper Store Files and Backups?

qFlipper manages files on the Flipper's microSD card and keeps the last 100 session logs on your computer.

Last updated

qFlipper's files live in two places, and mixing them up causes confusion. Your Flipper data sits on the device's microSD card, which qFlipper browses through its File manager tab. The app's own logs sit on your computer.

The card holds keys, remotes, and databases in per-feature folders, and it must be FAT formatted for the Flipper to mount it. The desktop side keeps about 100 sessions of logs for troubleshooting failed updates. Reach them through LOGS, then Browse all logs, rather than digging through app data by hand.

Where qFlipper stores this, by platform

Windows
Flipper Zero microSD card (File manager tab)

Holds keys, cards, remotes, and databases in per-feature folders. Browse it through qFlipper's File manager tab over USB, or mount the card directly. Keep a 16 to 32 GB card in FAT32 or exFAT.

macOS
Flipper Zero microSD card (File manager tab)

Same microSD workflow on Mac (10.14 and up, Apple Silicon supported). Session logs open through LOGS > Browse all logs inside the app.

Linux
Flipper Zero microSD card (File manager tab)

Same microSD workflow on Linux (AppImage plus udev rules for user access). Session logs open through LOGS > Browse all logs inside the app.

Frequently asked questions

Where are qFlipper's own log files?

Open qFlipper, click LOGS, then Browse all logs. The folder that opens holds timestamped files for roughly the last 100 sessions.

Can I recover files I delete from the Flipper?

Yes, through the File manager tab over USB. Deleted files bypass any trash, so download a copy first with Ctrl+D if there is any doubt.
