Where Does QLC+ Store Fixtures and Workspaces?
QLC+ keeps user fixtures, profiles, and scripts in ~/.qlcplus on Linux (~/QLC+ on Windows, Application Support QLC+ on Mac), with show workspaces as .qxw files you place.

QLC+ separates user content from program resources. Your fixtures, input profiles, RGB scripts, and MIDI templates live in a user folder whose path depends on the OS. Show files themselves are .qxw workspaces saved wherever suits the production.
Precedence rules make the user folder powerful. Files there override identically named system resources, so custom fixtures just work without touching installs. Project local fixtures add a third layer searched first, handy for touring shows carrying odd fixtures along.
Where QLC+ stores this, by platform
~/.qlcplus
User fixtures, profiles, scripts, and templates. The Fixtures subfolder is the custom fixture home. User files beat system ones with equal names.
%USERPROFILE%\QLC+
Same role as Linux user home for fixtures and profiles. Show .qxw files live wherever saved. Keep custom content out of the install folder.
~/Library/Application Support/QLC+
macOS variant of the user folder reached via Finder Go to Folder. System resources hide inside the app bundle instead.
Frequently asked questions
Where do custom QLC+ fixtures go?
Save custom fixtures into the Fixtures folder inside your user folder for your OS, or beside the project file which QLC+ also searches. User files override system ones with the same name. The editor saves there by default.
How do I move a QLC+ show to another PC?
Copy the .qxw workspace plus any sidecar fixture files kept beside it. Fixtures in the user folder travel separately, so back that up too. System folders rebuild on reinstall and need no backup.
