Where Does Raivo OTP Store Codes and Backups?

Raivo OTP lives in its iOS app container with optional iCloud sync. Export an encrypted JSON before switching phones.

Last updated

Raivo is iOS only and follows iOS sandbox rules strictly. Each install gets a random container ID, so no documented path stays valid across phones. Anyone publishing a literal Raivo folder path is guessing.

Treat the in-app export as the real location of your data. iCloud sync is convenient when it works, but the encrypted JSON export is the only copy you fully control. Make one before every phone change.

Where Raivo OTP stores this, by platform

iOS
/var/mobile/Containers/Data/Application/<guid>/ (Raivo OTP container)

Sandboxed container with a per-install ID. Reach data through the app or iCloud, not through a typed path. Export JSON for migration.

Frequently asked questions

How do I move Raivo codes to a new iPhone?

Open Raivo settings and export an encrypted backup, then store that file somewhere safe. iCloud sync covers daily use, but the export is what saves you when sync was off.

Can I browse Raivo files directly?

No. iOS sandboxes every app under /var/mobile/Containers with a random ID per install. There is no stable path to type. Use the Files app integration or the in-app export.

Does Raivo upload my secrets to its servers?

Codes stay in the app container and optionally in your private iCloud. Raivo has no server of its own, which is why losing both the phone and the export means losing the codes.
