Where Does RunnerUp Store Workouts?
RunnerUp keeps workouts in an app private database, with GPX exports going wherever you point them in shared storage.
Last updated
RunnerUp splits workouts from exports. The app database in private storage holds every activity with full sensor detail. GPX files exist only where you explicitly export them.
That split makes exports the backup, not the database. Copying app folders achieves nothing without root, and root restores break across versions. Export to GPX on a schedule and the archive survives any phone change. Confirm the export path in settings before a big backlog run.
Where RunnerUp stores this, by platform
/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/<RunnerUp package>
Workout database in private storage. Never transfers by copy, so export to GPX instead. Root restores across versions break more often than they help.
/storage/emulated/0/RunnerUp
One GPX per exported activity in the folder you chose. Copy these off the phone for a format that any tracker imports.
Frequently asked questions
How do I move RunnerUp workouts to a new phone?
Export each sport to GPX from inside the app, then copy the files off the phone. The private database never transfers by copy. Reimport the GPX files elsewhere or keep them as the archive.
Where are exported RunnerUp GPX files?
In the export folder you chose, one GPX per activity. Set the export path before a backlog export so files land somewhere findable. Confirm a sample opens elsewhere before wiping.
