Where Does SDR++ Store Config and Bookmarks?
SDR++ saves config.json and module configs beside the install. Frequency lists live in frequency_manager_config.json.
Last updated
SDR++ stores settings as json files in its own root folder rather than the OS config home. The main config.json holds modules, UI state, and VFO colors. Each module adds its own config file beside it, like the frequency manager one.
Some builds instead use a home config sdrpp folder, so check both spots if files seem missing. Recordings land wherever the Recorder module points, and Android builds read from the app data folder accessible over adb. Back up every config.json, not just the main one.
Where SDR++ stores this, by platform
C:\Tools\SDR++\config.json
Main settings beside the install. Lists enabled modules. Delete to regenerate when modules go missing.
C:\Tools\SDR++\frequency_manager_config.json
Bookmark lists and settings. Export selections from the Frequency Manager for sharing.
/home/<username>/.config/sdrpp/config.json
Home config location used by packaged Linux builds. Same filenames as the install dir layout.
Frequently asked questions
New modules do not show up. How do I fix it?
Delete config.json and restart. SDR++ regenerates defaults, including module entries for newly added modules. UI colors and zoom reset too.
How do I share frequency bookmarks?
Export selected bookmarks from the Frequency Manager to json. Another machine imports that file directly. The full list also lives in the manager config.
